Media Partnership - Trust or Bust: will Net-Zero Industries Thrive in Europe?

Please note that this event is by invitation only.

This event is in-person only and will not be live-streamed.

Trust is a cornerstone of any successful transformation. Employees are on the frontline of industrial change: they implement new processes, adapt to new skills, and shape public debate. To better understand their perspective, the Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics, in partnership with the E.ON Foundation, conducted a study across Germany, France, and Poland on how employees view the industrial transformation towards climate-neutrality. The findings show that while trust matters, it is only the starting point.

Europe must turn today’s political goodwill into real momentum through credible political action. The Clean Industrial Deal is designed as a blueprint - securing affordable energy, speeding up the rollout of clean technologies and keeping Europe’s industries competitive in a volatile global landscape. Can it deliver on its promise?

This event draws on the study’s findings to spotlight the next steps - what concrete measures are needed from policymakers, industry, and employees to advance the transition. We’ll debate how to unlock investment, guarantee affordable electricity, and scale up clean technologies - while keeping citizens on board and fairness at the heart of the shift.

Join us for this critical debate at the new E.ON "Energy Playhouse", an exclusive, immersive space open 8-12 December, where policy meets technology and Europe's energy future comes to life.
