Media Partnership - Powering Carbon Neutrality by 2050: EDF’s Net Zero scenario unveiled

WATCH RECORDING HERE

The European Union is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, signaling a crucial turning point in the fight against climate change. As the debate unfolds on the trajectory to this ambitious goal, it becomes evident that the path to realizing this vision is laden with intricate challenges, demanding a meticulous examination of economic, industrial, and social considerations.

At the forefront of these challenges lies the need to wean the EU from fossil fuel dependencies. Simultaneously, we must develop substantial capacities of zero and low carbon energy to facilitate
the decarbonization of every sector of our economy. Striking the delicate balance is paramount, decarbonising while ensuring social sustainability and the security of energy supply for European citizens and businesses.

During this event, EDF will share its most recent scenario and vision of the necessary steps ahead. The role of electrification and new power sector dynamics will be center stage, setting the scene for an insightful high level debate.
