Join EURACTIV and our Energy&Environment journalists on Thursday 23 February for a Twitter Chat on Forestry and Climate Change.

Our Twitter account @eaGreenEU will share the following questions on Twitter and invite you to share responses using #eaGreenEU:

Q1. What potential ways are there to restore forests, soils and waterways in Europe?

Q2. How can nature restoration projects benefit landowners, farmers, foresters and fishers as well as the environment?

Q3. How much money is needed for restoration projects to reach the scale needed? Does Europe need a separate fund for this?

Q4. The European Commission proposed to assess nature restoration needs by looking at deterioration over the last 70 years. Is this a good metric or should the EU use a different one?

Q5. Do you support the idea of "non-deterioration" to ensure restored areas don’t slip back into poor conditions?

What is a Twitter chat, and how do you join?

A Twitter Chat is a discussion between Twitter users that get online at a pre-arranged date and time to discuss a specific topic using a designated #hashtag (for this chat it’s #eaGreenEU). The hashtag links the questions and answers in a virtual conversation.

As the host of the Twitter Chat, @eaGreenEU will post questions identified as Q1, Q2 and so on, to prompt answers from participants, which are identified as A1, A2 and so on. We will moderate the answers and ask follow up questions to participants. Please be sure to use the #eaGreenEU when answering the questions.

The Twitter Chat will last about an hour. The best way to see the entire conversation is to search for the hashtag #eaGreenEU on twitter and switch to the "latest tweets" tab.
