Media Partnership: Energy Transition - Challenges and Opportunities in Brazil

WATCH THE RECORDING HERE

This is the second event in the Brazil Talks webinar series: Sustainability, Innovation and Productivity. It is also an official side-event of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2022.

Brazil’s energy mix is one of the cleanest in the world: renewables account for 45% of primary energy demand and for 84% on power generation. The idea, however, is not to stand behind those numbers. Brazil will join decarbonisation efforts and become one of the greatest renewable energy producers in the world. According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance, the share of wind and solar in the Brazilian energy matrix will increase from 4.4% in 2015 to 44% in 2040.

Apart from those two resources, Brazil is also moving forward on hydrogen and other low carbon intensity technologies, in particular biomass and biofuels. In this webinar, the focus will be on demonstrating how Brazil is dealing with energy transition, and the strategy to use Brazilian wealth of natural resources to meet the purpose of neutral economy.
