On the occasion of the first ever Stars4Media Community event, this hybrid conference aims at bridging all forms of media support: from philanthropy to corporate and public funds. The structural changes of the media sector due to digitisation as well as the decrease in advertising revenues is hitting the commercial media industry hard and is exposing market failure that require interventions to correct. As a consequence, we experience across Europe media concentration, increased risk of media capture, reduced media coverage, and increasingly difficult working conditions for journalists. This event will offer a space for discussion, networking and brainstorming on the solutions for a healthy media sector.
Please note that this event is composed of two parts. The first part, "Public and Corporate Funds" from 14:00 - 15:15 will be live-streamed. The second part "Community Event" from 15:30 to 18:00 will be in-person only and will not be live streamed.
