Remembering the past to shape the future of Europe

Remembering the past to shape the future of Europe

The European Union seems today stuck in an existential crisis. Brexit, rising populism and Euroscepticism, societal and international challenges are creating a hostile environment for the European project.

But the European Union can be relaunched: it is one of the main global players and many citizens are eager to see improvements across all Member States.

What can we learn from the past to relaunch the European project in the future?

What role can media play? How can they help in better informing citizens?

How can the EU Institutions better involve citizens, especially in view of the upcoming 2019 elections?

EURACTIV looks forward to welcoming you to this forum to discuss the past and future of the EU and celebrate the new year.

The event is kindly hosted by the House of European History.
