Euractiv is pleased to announce the launch of Defence Pro - FIREPOWER, the latest addition to its suite of specialised policy intelligence services. Following the successful rollout of Pro newsletters in Energy, Environment & Transport, Agrifood, Health, and Tech, Defence Pro will provide daily, in-depth reporting on the defence and security transformation currently underway in Europe.

As Europe wants to assume greater responsibility for its own security, the need for strategic clarity, industrial coordination, and financial innovation is seen as becoming increasingly urgent. FIREPOWER will offer exclusive insights into the policies, procurement strategies, and political dynamics shaping the future of European defence.

To mark this launch, Euractiv will host a high-level event focused on one of the most pressing issues of our time: whether, and how, Europe can build a sovereign defence industrial base, and what role financial institutions should play in that process.

The keynote addresses will be delivered by Andrius Kubilius, Commissioner for Defence and Space, and by Robert de Groot, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank. They will expand on the EU’s investments and priorities in the defence space, the financing gaps that remain unaddressed by private capital and military budgets, and how Europe can adopt a forward-looking approach.

The event will also provide the opportunity to engage directly with the editors and journalists of the FIREPOWER team.
