#eaGreenEU Twitter Chat | Forestry and Climate Change
Can Europe restore the capacity of its forests to act as a carbon "sink"? Should forest biomass be considered as a renewable source of energy? And how can Europe strengthen forest's resilience against climate change?
Join EURACTIV and our Energy and Environment journalists Frédéric Simon and Kira Taylor on Thursday 22 July for a Twitter Chat on forestry and climate change.
Our Twitter account @eaGreenEU will share the following questions on Twitter and invite you to share responses using #eaGreenEU.
Q1. Are Europe's forests at risk because of climate change? What are the facts?
Q2. How can Europe strengthen forest's resilience against climate change?
Q3. What can Europe do to reduce "imported deforestation" from places like the Amazon?
Q4. Should forest biomass be considered as a renewable source of energy?
Q5. How can Europe grow the capacity of its forests to act as a carbon "sink"?
What is a Twitter chat, and how do you join?
A Twitter Chat is a discussion between Twitter users that get online at a pre-arranged date and time to discuss a specific topic using a designated #hashtag (for this chat it’s #eaGreenEU). The hashtag links the questions and answers in a virtual conversation.
As the host of the Twitter Chat, @eaGreenEU will post questions identified as Q1, Q2 and so on, to prompt answers from participants, which are identified as A1, A2 and so on. We will moderate the answers and ask follow up questions to participants. Please be sure to use the #eaGreenEU hashtag when answering the questions.
The Twitter Chat will last about an hour. The best way to see the entire conversation is to search for the hashtag #eaGreenEU on twitter and switch to the "latest tweets" tab.
